The whole park was bathed in crimson light, and the red trees stood like silent guardians, while the gravel underfoot seemed to have absorbed the hues of every dawn that had ever spilled onto this path.
He came here alone. A beloved melody played in his headphones. Jeans, a faded white T-shirt, and that favourite red checkered shirt - the one he had worn back when everything was only just beginning. No glare of spotlights - only the quiet of the scarlet park and footsteps leaving traces on the red gravel.
He stopped and lifted his eyes.
That gaze was something rare. No youthful defiance in it, no weariness - only the deep, quiet gravity of someone who understands everything. And waits. He looked straight ahead, as if through time itself - to the place where, on the other side of this crimson road, they were waiting for him.
The park rustled its leaves, a sound like soft applause. The red trees seemed to lean in closer, sheltering him.
